Exo Terra’s® Desert Sand is natural desert sand with no added dyes or chemicals. It has been sifted to remove impurities and obtain a homogenous grain size.

Deserts of the world: Approximately one-third of the Earth’s surface is desert, arid land with little rainfall supporting only sparse vegetation. Reptiles living in deserts have adapted to the arid environment, the sand, and the higher UV radiation. The Exo Terra® Reptile UVB150 is a specially designed light source for desert terrariums. Desert Sand also makes an excellent heat conductor for Exo Terra’s® Heat Mat.
