The Exo Terra Coco Husk is 100% natural, biodegradable terrarium bedding made from sustainable, ground coconut husk fibre grown on plantations in tropical Asia. This ecological substrate's unique hygroscopic properties regulate the terrarium’s humidity naturally and are totally safe for frogs, salamanders, and other burrowing or digging animals. Adequate air humidity levels aid in shedding and help prevent respiratory infections. Exo Terra® Coco Husk is triple machine washed to remove residual salt content, then machine dried and heat-treated to reduce bacterial contamination. The Exo Terra Coco Husk makes an ideal bedding for terrarium set-ups for humidity-loving reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. Its water retention capacity, increased soil drainage and improved aeration promote cultivating healthy waste-reducing organisms that keep your terrarium fresh and clean. The Exo Terra Coco Husk is ground, sieved, triple-washed, machine-dried and heat-treated at our state-of-the-art production facility. Exo Terra® Coco Husk is non-toxic, free of chemicals & pesticides and can be safely composted in your garden. 

Directions: Place the brick in a 10 L (2.6 gal) bucket and add approximately 3 L (100 fl oz) water. Let it soak for about 30 minutes until it completely absorbs the water and no clumps remain. Stir the substrate to ensure no compressed parts remain and the substrate is ready. Spread a 2-4” layer (5-10 cm) of Exo Terra Coco Husk on the terrarium floor. Water or mist the substrate according to the humidity level required, and an Exo Terra Hygrometer is used to monitor the humidity level. Spot-clean the bedding daily and completely replace it with new bedding when necessary.
